Significant Internet Disruption Impacts Numerous Sites and Apps

A large-scale internet outage has disrupted dozens online platforms and apps globally, with users noting troubles getting online after problems at Amazon’s web hosting system.

The impacted services include the social media app Snapchat, the gaming platform Roblox, Signal, and the language learning app Duolingo, in addition to multiple Amazon-operated services like its main retail site and the Ring security home security firm.

In the UK, Lloyds bank was affected along with its branches Halifax and the Scottish bank, with additional accounts of issues accessing the the tax authority site on the start of the week. Additionally in Britain, multiple Ring customers turned to social media to state their home gadgets were malfunctioning.

In the UK alone, notifications of issues on specific apps reached the many thousands for every service.
